HTSL: the common thread
All three tools build on the same idea: HTSL, the scripting language for Housing created by BusterBrown1218. HTSL lets creators write house actions as text instead of clicking through menus. HTSW is a recode of it, HTSL Reborn ports its syntax to newer Minecraft versions, and HousingStudio includes an HTSL code editor right next to its visual blocks.
HousingStudio: visual coding in your browser
HousingStudio is a free development tool for Housing from Al3xWarrior, whose videos on Housing mechanics are still a go-to resource. Instead of chest menus, you build your house’s logic in a web workspace at housingstudio.app.
Al3xWarrior first previewed it on the Hypixel Forums on September 1, 2026, asking for feedback while it was still in design. After a private beta, he officially introduced it on October 23, 2026. Here’s what it offers:
- A visual block editor for actions and conditions, in a style similar to Scratch
- An HTSL code editor, so you can switch between blocks and code
- Import and sync, which brings in an existing house and sends your changes back to Minecraft
- A project explorer for functions, events, NPC actions, and menus
- Live collaboration, shareable templates, and public Community Houses
In the September preview, Al3xWarrior said a client-side mod handles the in-game menu work behind syncing, so check the site for the current setup steps before you start.
Best for: newer creators, visual thinkers, and teams who want to build together.

HTSW: a full toolkit for text-based projects
HTSW is a development toolkit for Housing that its release post describes as a recode of HTSL. Version 1.0.0 was released on August 10, 2026, by Callanplays, with Sandy and Jesse credited on the release. The project is published under the LGHousing organization on GitHub, and its documentation is hosted by Legendary Games. It includes:
- A VS Code extension for writing projects
- A command-line tool that checks and runs your code, with detailed error messages
- A simulator
- An in-game ChatTriggers module that imports and exports whole projects
- An importer that compares your house with your project, updates only what changed, flags conflicts, and can resume large imports
Updates came quickly: version 1.0.4 followed on August 16, 2026, keeping open projects and settings across reloads and making interrupted imports safer. The release post also credits Sandy and ImaDoofus with starting its lexer and parser, and Jesse with writing the original importer. Because the in-game part runs through ChatTriggers, a 1.8.9 mod, HTSW is built around 1.8.9 rather than the newest Minecraft versions.
Best for: experienced creators who like writing code in an editor and managing big projects as files.

HTSL Reborn: HTSL for modern Minecraft
HTSL Reborn is a Fabric mod from Redstone Studios that makes scripting in Housing easier by bringing HTSL’s syntax to newer Minecraft versions. Its project page thanks BusterBrown1218, who created the original HTSL module.
On Modrinth, it lists support for Minecraft 1.21.11, 26.1.2, and 26.2 as a client-side Fabric mod, with around 1,400 downloads so far. Redstone Studios is an independent studio founded in 2021 that builds for Hypixel and Minecraft, led by co-directors Sin_ender and Mightykloon.
Best for: creators who already know HTSL and play on the latest Minecraft with Fabric.

Which tool should you use?
- Want to drag blocks, see your whole project at once, or build with friends? Start with HousingStudio.
- Want to write code in VS Code and keep big projects as files? Try HTSW.
- Already use HTSL and play on modern Minecraft with Fabric? HTSL Reborn is made for you.
You don’t have to pick just one. All three are built around HTSL, so what you learn in one carries over to the others.
Are mods like these allowed on Hypixel?
Hypixel originally made it clear that mods like these weren’t allowed, and its general Allowed Modifications rules still ban macros and anything that automates gameplay across the network.
Housing now has its own exception. Hypixel’s Housing Content Rules currently allow “limited use of certain macro mods in Housing, at our discretion.” The exception covers only macro mods that stick to vanilla Minecraft mechanics while automating the creation of Housing actions, and Hypixel notes that it can change.
Use these tools at your own risk
HypixelHousing.com can’t promise that any mod is safe or allowed, and Hypixel can change its exception at any time, so anyone using these modifications does so at their own risk. We recommend downloading only from trusted sources like GitHub, Modrinth, or the official links in this story, and backing up important houses before your first big import.

Is HousingStudio free?
Yes. Al3xWarrior introduced it as a free development tool built specifically for Housing.
What’s the difference between HTSW and HTSL Reborn?
HTSW is a full toolkit with a VS Code extension, a command-line tool, a simulator, and an in-game importer that runs through ChatTriggers. HTSL Reborn is a Fabric mod that brings HTSL’s syntax to newer Minecraft versions.
Who created HTSL?
