What does Offline Build do in Hypixel Housing?

Offline Build allows a role to build in your house while you are offline. It can be assigned to any role by the house owner.

What Offline Build is

The Offline Build permission in Hypixel Housing is a permission that can be assigned to any role (group) in a Housing plot by the house owner. When it is enabled for a role, players in that role can build while the owner is offline.

Where to find Offline Build in the permissions menu

As of September 2025, Offline Build is the first permission on the third page of permissions available for housing owners to modify. If you do not see it immediately, use the page arrows in the permissions editor to switch pages, or use the compass search to find it faster.

Offline Build warning (read this before enabling it)

The Offline Build permission can be very risky if you are not sure how it works. Editors and staff on the Free Build Wiki strongly recommend that you keep this setting turned off. It is off by default, so if you have not changed it, you are already safe.

Why it is dangerous:

This setting is risky because Hypixel holds the plot owner responsible for anything built on their plot, even if the owner never saw or approved it. If inappropriate builds are found and reported, the plot owner can be banned from the Hypixel server, regardless of who actually placed them.

Simple safety rules

Do not grant Offline Build to random people. If someone asks for it, assume they might be testing you.
Only enable it for people you trust deeply. This should be extremely rare for Free Builds.
Remember the responsibility rule: owners can be punished for what others build on their plot.
